FAQs for HRD Range | 6kW 16" Digital Immersion Heater

Q: Re: HRD616AA Can this element with its electronic controls be connected to a control panel via a 3 pole contactor that is in turn controlled by a 7 day timer? If so, will the controller in the element remember its last state? For example: If the element was set to 'on' when the timer in the panel shuts off the power, will it resume operation when the timer switches its supply back on the next morning? Also, the existing Santon MY616 element hasn't lasted very long. It's fitted to a large hot water calorifier with a secondary hot water circulating pump. The site is in central London and the calorifier has a history of 'eating' through immersion elements.

A: Morning Dan, Thank you for your inquiry, yes the control does remember its last state so I cant see there being an issue using in line with a timer. With regards to the MY not lasting very long this due to the element being Incoloy which can be corroded by hard water it would be recommended to use Titanium instead, Regards, Phil.
