Q: I have a Gledhill HW cylinder with 2 Shel immersion heaters and would like to be able to heat the water to a higher temperature than the 60 degrees that the thermostat is set to. Can you please tell me what I can do
— Asked by Peter Browning on October 24, 2014
A: The thermostat can be changed to up the temperature, it is just they are factory set @ 60°C. If the seal is broken on the thermostat the warranty would be void on that unit.
Q: Hi Is this a side entry thermostat?
— Asked by Debbie Tweed on January 14, 2016
A: Morning Debbie, thank you for your queastion, I can confirm the SS11 is a side entry stat yes, Regards, Phil.
Q: I need to replace the reset button on a shel SS11 immersion heater - is a spare part available. The heating element and thermostat are working ok. I have tried a new thermostat with an internal reset and it is physically too big - dont want to replace the whole immersion heater.

Q: can a 11inch ss11 thermostat be replaced with a cut out similar thermostat??
— Asked by chris mc millan on September 16, 2020
A: An immersion with the SS11 thermostat will generally have a separate bi-metallic thermal cut-out. If not we can supply a replacement with cut-out built in. Kind regards, Hayley
