Question for AESTB327 (Added 18/11/15 )

Hi, my immersion heater has developed a fault. Resistance is 18ohm L-N. >4M Ohms L-E, N-E. I can only assume it is breaking down under voltage.
Cabling to the element is fine, MCB trips goes when mains is connected to the element.
The element is a Cotherm ELE-11-IN-800-UNV.
I was hoping to replace it with AESTB327. Should this be a straight forward swap?
Wattage, voltage, length are all the same. I don’t know the thread size as the element is currently installed in an unvented tank and ideally I only want to drain it once.
Regards,
Andrew
